A martial arts instructor is behind bars, accused of sexually assaulting his 8-year old student. Authorities say 35-year-old Giovanni Miguel Eankamash taught the class out of his home in Minneapolis.
The young victim was enrolled for six months, between January and June of this year. The child came forward after her mother asked if she wanted to enroll in another class. She said "no" and then told her mom she had been sexually assaulted.
The girl told authorities Eankamash, who was considered a family friend, assaulted her at least twice and told her not to tell anyone. Officers interviewed Eankamash, who admitted to sexually assaulting the girl during martial arts lessons and said he told her not to tell anyone.
Eankamash is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct and is currently behind bars a Hennepin county jail.

A Minneapolis martial arts instructor was charged Monday with sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl.
Giovanni Miguel Eankamash, 35, was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
He was being held in the Hennepin County jail in lieu of $300,000 bail, according to jail records. His next court appearance is Sept. 1.
Minneapolis police are "investigating the possibility that there are other victims," Sgt. Bill Palmer said, but the girl is the only one authorities know of so far.
According to the criminal complaint:
The girl's mother called police in July after her daughter told her about the assaults, which she said happened during lessons from January to June. The mother said that Eankamash was a family friend.
The girl later told authorities that he assaulted her at least twice and said not to tell anyone, the complaint said.
Eankamash told police that he touched the girl sexually during lessons, the complaint said.
