A 36-year-old soccer coach and tae kwon do instructor from Cicero was ordered held in lieu of $1 million bail today after being charged with sex crimes that involved minors, authorities said.
Hugo E. Davila was arrested at his home on Wednesday evening and charged with one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of criminal sexual assault, according to Cook County State’s Attorney spokesman Andy Conklin.
Davila also was charged with one count of resisting arrest for allegedly injuring a Cicero police officer during the execution of a search warrant at Davila’s home, officials said.
Conklin said an investigation revealed that one of the alleged victims was sexually abused and fondled before and after tae kwon do class several times between November 2005 and November 2009. The boy was 10 years old in 2005, according to Conklin.
A 16-year-old boy, who was a soccer player and tae kwon do student, was sexually assaulted several times between August 2011 and Jan. 1, 2012.
Davila, a second-degree black belt, would often threaten the boy with harm, according to Conklin.
Cicero police officials learned about the abuses after another student recently found naked photographs of the 16-year-old boy on Davila’s cell phone, Conklin said. The student told a parent, who then contacted the police.
Information about where Davila worked as an instructor and coach was not available.
