A Hillsborough County martial arts instructor was sentenced to life in prison for raping and sexually abusing a child client starting when she was 11-years-old.
Nelson Ivan Del Valle-Nazario was an instructor at Undisputed Fitness & Martial Arts located at 1412 W. Waters Ave. He was arrested in November, 2016.

"Justice was served today. He got what he deserved," the victim's mother said after the sentencing.
The victim, her mother and her brother all made victim impact statements during the court proceedings Thursday. The victim, now a teenage girl, asked Valle-Nazario to look her in the eye.
"I want you to look at me," she said. "I remember when you said nobody would believe me if I said anything. I spoke up and people believed me."
However, the victim's mother discussed the trouble the family has had since the sexual encounters. She said her daughter attempted suicide. She said they were ridiculed on social media, even blamed for the encounters by people from the gym for bringing the allegations forward.
"It was the leggings she wore, they said. It was the uniform she wore for the gym." The victim's mother said.
Valle-Nazario waived his right to give a statement himself. At one point he smirked and laughed at some of what the mother of the victim was saying.

TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says a 33-year-old mixed martial arts instructor sexually abused a 12-year-old student.
Nelson Ivan Del Valle-Nazario was arrested Thursday at his gym on Waters Avenue. At least one parent believes the allegations can't be true.
"He seemed like a friendly person. He was a friendly neighbor, I said hi to him," neighbor Laura Franco told FOX 13 News.
But deputies say they recorded him on the phone admitting to having sex with a 12-year-old student between March of 2015 and September of 2016. Some meetings happened at his gym, Undisputed Fitness, and some at his home a few miles away.
"You are in a position of authority, kids are going to respect you, kids are going to look up to you," Franco said.
Parents also looked up to him. Despite the allegations, Anna Florentis, who is seen in videos, training with him, won't believe he could do something like that.
"I can't imagine the phone call is accurate. Maybe there is a misinterpretation of something," Flroentis said. "This person is not the kind of person who could do something like that… I would be willing to bet my life on it."
Florentis, who said Nazario's colleagues asked her to speak for the gym, said the victim's parents had an axe to grind regarding a dispute over tutoring time. Florentis insists other parents shouldn't be scared of the gym.
“When he teaches them martial arts, it's not just about martial arts, it's about the whole package, having honor, loyalty, integrity, he has a value system," Florentis said.
But deputies have charged him with two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, and said their case is rock-solid.
"I am in total shock. I don't have kids, but this is a neighborhood, there's a school two blocks from here," Laura Franco added.
Del Valle-Nazario is in the Hillsborough County Jail on $30,000 bond.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - A brave young victim of sexual abuse confronted her former martial arts instructor in court Thursday as he was sentenced to life in prison.
Investigators said Nelson Ivan del Valle-Nazario admitted to having sex with one of his students during a recorded phone call with them in 2016.
He was charged with sexual battery against a minor less than 12, a capital offense in Florida that carries with it a mandatory sentence of life in prison if convicted.
The victim tearfully spoke in court with her brother and mother by her side.
"What you did to me, hurt me, and what you did to me is something I would never possibly forget," the victim said.
Nazario stood handcuffed, sometimes with a smirk on his face as the 15-year-old girl and her family called him a rapist and monster. Nearly everyone, including inmates there for other cases were in tears.

"My mom put me in martial arts to help me with bullying. My mom was paying you to teach me martial arts and instead you were raping her daughter," the victim said. "You used your power to get close to me. You weren't only my coach, you were a trusted friend and I think that's why I've been in denial for so long."
The victim's brother said, "Nobody understands how much I hate him. I want him to spend the rest of his life in prison."
The victim's mother spoke with News Channel 8 about concerns that more victims could be out there.
"If this happened to you, please speak up. Speak up," the victim's mother said.
Nazario was the owner of Undisputed Fitness & Martial Arts on Waters Avenue in Tampa.
The battery began in March 2015 and lasted until September 2016, according to Hillsborough County deputies. They said the incidents happened both at a gym and at Nazario's home.
Nazario was arrested in November 2016.
Last month he was found guilty on four counts of lewd and lascivious battery, and of sexual battery by an adult with a victim less than 12.
The judge also sentenced Nazario to 60 years on the four counts of lewd and lascivious battery along with the life sentence.
