Taekwando instructor pleads guilty to solicitation of minor

MANCHESTER — Daniel Resto-Ortiz, 25, of Lowell, Mass., a former instructor at a Bedford taekwando studio, pleaded guilty in Hillsborough County Superior Court North to using online and computer services in an attempt to seduce a 15-year-old student between April and July of 2014.
Resto-Ortiz pleaded guilty to felony charges of certain uses of a computer prohibited and indecent exposure, and to four misdemeanor charges of simple assault.
He was accused of using a cell phone application to send sexually explicit messages to the girl, sending an image of his exposed genitals to her and kissing her on four separate occasions at the studio.
Judge Kenneth Brown sentenced Resto-Ortiz to 12 months in the Hillsborough County House of Corrections. He was given an additional suspended sentence of one to four years in the New Hampshire State Prison.
Resto-Ortiz must undergo sexual offender treatment and will have to register as a sexual offender.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant Hillsborough County Attorneys Andrew Ouellette and Rose-Marie Balboni.

A search warrant at Master An’s Taekwondo on South River Road yielded evidence and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Daniel Resto-Ortiz, 24, of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Resto-Ortiz was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of simple assault, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of certain uses of computer services-prohibited.
Resto-Ortiz is currently being held without bail at the Hillsborough County Jail in Manchester, New Hampshire, pending his arraignment in 9th Circuit Court in Goffstown, New Hampshire.
